IEEE Victorian Section Student Conference Paper Presentation Travel Grant (application deadline)

Consistent with the IEEE's corporate objective of promoting the science and practice of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the IEEE Victorian Section will be offering two grants of up to $1000 to support Student Member authors presenting accepted papers at IEEE or approved non-IEEE conferences. The first submission date will close on 18 May.

To receive a grant the recipient must:

  • Be a member of IEEE and the IEEE Victorian Section prior to submitting travel grant application.
  • Be a student (or have been at the time of paper submission deadline) and carry at least 50% of a normal full-time academic program as a registered undergraduate or graduate student in a regular course of study.
  • Be the author or co-author of an accepted paper in the conference
  • Have contributed to at least 50% of the research presented.
  • Attend the conference and present the paper.

Extra information

  • Prizes will be first awarded in 2010 after an initial advertising period of no less than two calender months
  • It is envisaged that up to two prizes may be awarded by the IEEE Victorian Section per calender year
  • The applicant must complete all of the details in the application below.
  • Each prize may be up to an amount of $1000.
  • Only one student author per paper will be awarded a travel grant.
  • A student can receive only one grant per year.
  • each successful student is asked to provide a one page report back to the Section on the conference and presentation
  • The grants are awarded at the sole discretion of the IEEE Victorian Section Executive Committee
  • The IEEE Victorian Section Committee is under no obligation to make awards and may limit the total amount awarded in any year, or withhold awards completely, or make any other changes it sees fit, at its sole discretion.
