2007 Chair's Section Report

The IEEE Victorian Section has had another active year thanks to the efforts of the volunteers in the section and in its chapters, afinity groups and student branches. During the year the section ran over 40 events for its members (detailed in Appendix A) across its 17 Chapter, Afinity groups and student branches. In March the Victorian Section Women in Engineering (WIE) affinity group were awarded with an Honourable Mention in the 2006 review of the best IEEE WIE groups worldwide. The award was presented by the IEEE WIE chair, Professor Karen Panetta, at a WIE reception in Melbourne. Congratulations to Irena Atov and the rest of the WIE committee for this impresseive and highly deserved achievement.
