INTRODUCTORY TO RAILWAY SIGNALLING AND LEVEL CROSSING REMOVAL PROJECTS

ABSTRACT:

‘Railway Signalling’ is a vital component in ensuring the safety of the rail network. In this presentation there will be an introductory focus on topics such as Interlocking, Field Equipment and Train Control Systems (TCS) along with the recent Grade Separation projects around Melbourne.

SPEAKER:

Prashan Kandasamy is a Member of IEEE and Engineers Australia. He has completed his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) with Honours from RMIT University and currently studying Master of Business Administration (MBA) from RMIT.

Prashan has worked with Cummins South Pacific in the field of Power Generation, before beginning his career in the railways at UGL in Signalling Design and Testing. Prashan has now moved on to Metro Trains Melbourne as a Signalling Project Engineer working on the Level Crossing Removal Projects.
