Victorian Chapter’s Mission Statement

The chapter shall support the IEEE EMS in its aims to advance the practice of engineering management, encourage theoretical and conceptual developments in management and promote high professional standards among members.

We shall aim to:

• Bring speakers that will enhance EMS members’ skills and interests
• Allow access to EMS activities by holding them in different locations so everyone has a chance to join in
• Organize networking meetings where EMS members will have a chance to meet exceptional people to discuss engineering management

During our term as committee we will particularly encourage events, meetings and discussion on the following topics:

• Decision making style / processes of engineering management across Asia Pacific
• How intellectual property rights management can contribute to Australia's growing knowledge-economy
• How to build financial models for start-up companies to predict how they will grow (or not)
• How to manage for greater R&D productivity
